FAFSA AID – FREE APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL STUDENT AID
Submitting the FAFSA on the web is the fastest way to apply for federal student aid. You will get your result 7 to 14 days faster than if you mail in a paper application. This page has been designed to help you in understanding FAFSA and submitting the FAFSA on the web. Please read the tips before you submit the FAFSA on the web. All students filing out a FAFSA on the web need first to request an FSA ID. The FSA ID is the identifier to let you access personal information in various U.S. Department of Education systems. The FSA ID is required to submit the online Renewal FAFSA or to make online corrections to your FAFSA.

As a financial aid applicant, you will need to submit various forms to determine your eligibility, apply for a scholarship or appeal an ineligible status. Most forms can be returned electronically, or via fax or email. However, some financial aid forms and documents require original signatures and must be mailed or hand delivered to:

FERPA Waiver Form
The Virginia University of Lynchburg will not release an enrolled student’s financial information to their parents/guardians or another third party unless the student has completed and submitted a FERPA Waiver Form to the Registrar’s Office allowing us to do so.
Please select the semester and session start date that is applicable to your enrollment plans.
Attention: Beginning Spring 2018, financial aid refunds will be issued after the 100% add/drop period, approximately 17 days after the first day of class
